Baccarat: The game which means « Zéro » in Italian

James Bond, a famous cinema player with characters, created by Ian Lancaster Fleming was seen playing baccarat in some of his films, especially in “Dr. No” where he plays with Sylvia Trench. Effectively, this game is one of the most appreciated and the oldest of all casino games. Baccarat means "Zero" in Italian that’s why it is said that it has an Italian origin. He was recovered by French players under the name of "Chemin de Fer" or Railway during the reign of Charles VIII of France. Once, it arrived in England, it take again the name "baccarat". Baccarat depends strictly on fate or chance. Therefore, it does not require either a strategy or a particular personal capacity of the player. There are three variants of baccarat: the baccarat Chemin de Fer (railway), the baccarat Banque (with two boards) and the Punto banco (North American baccarat).

Generally, baccarat is a game played with 6 to 8 card games, arranged in a clog. At first, one of the players has to hold the role of the player which will face the banker. Every player has to hold one of these roles and it, alternately, with a turn beginning from the right of the banker. To start, the banker and the player receive each two cards alternately with a possibility for the player to draw a third card if he has an initial total equal or less than 5 points in his hand. For a player of baccarat, the best way to win is to bet on the hand of the Player, on that of the Bank or on the equality and to aim at reaching the value the closest to 9. The way to calculate score is by taking the sum of all cards. The first digit is dropped when the total is higher than 9. All cards apart from Ace until 9 as 10 and face cards (J, Q and K) are worth zero.
