The Biggest Casino In The World

The biggest casino in the world is in Macau, the ancient Portuguese colony known actually as the Chinese gamble capital. It opened its doors on August the 28th, 2004 and is called Venetian. Having the same name as another casino in the USA, it is affiliated to the Las Vegas Sands, the American giant of games industry. Built on the stretch of Cotai, Venetian is a retort of the eponym key casino of Las Vegas with for theme Venice. The firm includes 850 gaming tables and 4,100 gambling machines distributed on a surface equivalent to three soccer fields. It has also 350 shops, a stadium equipped with 15,000 seats, around thirty gastronomic restaurants. More than a million meters square are reserved for trade shows. And with its 3,000 suites, Venetian of Macao is also the biggest luxury hotel of Asia. After the construction of the Venetian, Macao knew an exceptional growth and exceeded last year Las Vegas in terms of receipts obtained from the game, so that its owners could get back the total of his investment only in five years. The new complex will also have to be settled to hold, with secondary activities, a customer which comes generally only for day and remains mostly cloistered in gaming rooms.

Now, Macao becomes the Chinese capital of the game. Its ambition: compete with Las Vegas and become the first world destination for tourism, business tourism and leisure. Its owners consider that until 2010, up to $24 billions dollars should be spent in this new temple of game. The firm has walls skated with ochre, lampposts having ancient characteristics and shaded arches. All the elements are combined to dive into the Venetian atmosphere. Gondolas suggest even making a tour in the Venetian’s canals. In Budapest, a same project having a similar size as the Venetian is in the way to be realized by another American firm.
